In the mind of the average consumer, the higher the thread count the better the quality of bed linen.  While thread count can be a consideration, it can also be misleading.

Traditionally thread count is defined as the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric.  However, some retailers may use a thread count per 10 square cm which will give an inflated figure.

Each thread should count as one, however some retailers count twisted threads to inflate the thread count.  There is no law in Hong Kong that governs what constitutes a thread count.  In the U.S., the law does not specify that thread count is determined by the thread as opposed to yarn.  A fabric made of 250 individual 4-ply yarn therefore may be labelled as "1000 thread count" but should be more appropriately labelled as "4-ply 250 thread count".

Some may prefer the crisp linen feel or the silky softness of cotton sateen.   It is important to be able to feel the fabric before you buy because ultimately how the bed linen feels on your skin and your body matters most.

At Kokoon Beds & Bedding, we have the biggest range of bed linen on display in Hong Kong - not sealed in packaging but displayed on our exclusive range of beds.

We can also custom make to your size requirements.
